Summary
Objective of the position
The job is to enable the department to achieve its goals by doing architectural design of small construction works and collecting data for architectural design research.
Results and duties expected from the position:
Outcome 1: Preparation of architectural design for minor construction works.
- Prepares, evaluates preliminary design work, prepares final design based on proposed improvements;
- Provides assistance to senior professionals in design work;
- Performs architectural design of minor construction works;
- Attends construction sites and prepares preliminary design;
- As-built designs for simple projects that require maintenance;
- Compiles laws, regulations, standards and performance guidelines for architectural design;
- Evaluates and approves the architectural designs of small constructions that are made and presented to him by his immediate supervisor.
- Monitors the execution of construction and maintenance works in accordance with the architectural design, and submits a report to the relevant party.
Outcome 2: Collect and organize information to support architectural research.
- Conducts simple case studies;
- Collects information used for architectural design work, organizes it in a way that is convenient for research.
- Collects and organizes articles and documents from various sources for various projects.
Complexity of the work - The job is to make small architectural designs, to do simple design work, to repair and extend the service life of old buildings, and to collect and organize information needed for architectural design research. Inconsistency, lack of prompt response from stakeholders when requests for repair design are made; failure to obtain complete information from those concerned for architectural design research can be solved by developing simple standards, using alternative construction methods, communicating with the parties involved in maintenance design, and collecting information from various sources to help with architectural design research.
Working independently
- Manner in which the work is performed -The work is carried out following the performance guidelines, standards and clear instructions given by the supervisor for new and difficult situations.
- Level of supervision and support required by the work- The work will be monitored by the immediate supervisor to insure expected quality work carried out in accordance with the instructions.
Reports to: Engineering Services Directorate
Duration of Position: One year with possibility of extension subject to performance

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Architectural Design Technology from recognized university.
- Only 2021 G.C. and 2022 G.C. graduates with commutative GPA 3.00 and above can apply.
- Zero years’ work experience
